ITINERARY

Week 1: Orientation & Volunteering Setup

 

Day 1: Arrival in Durban

  • Pick up from the airport and transfer to the volunteer center.

  • Welcome dinner and orientation with fellow volunteers.

 

Days 2-5: Getting Acquainted with the Program

​

  • Mondays & Wednesdays:

    • 8:30am: Start the day at the center.

    • Engage in various activities, including cooking, teaching, sports, hygiene routines, feeding, and gardening.

    • Contribute to center improvements through painting and administrative tasks.

    • 3:30pm: End the day's activities.

    • Optional beach trip in the afternoon.

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays:

    • 8:30am: Drive to the Kwa-Mashu Center.

    • Distribute food to children and the local community.

    • Collect food for the volunteer house.

    • 2pm: Return to the volunteer house.

    • Optional mall or supermarket visit for personal shopping.

 

Week 2-3: Exploring the East Coast

 

Days 6-7: Wild Coast Exploration

  • Set off for the Wild Coast region.

  • Engage in volunteer activities during the mornings.

  • Spend the afternoons and weekends exploring the beautiful Wild Coast, its beaches, and local culture.

 

Days 8-9: Addo Elephant Park & Jeffrey's Bay

  • Travel to Addo Elephant Park for a safari experience.

  • Continue to Jeffrey's Bay for surfing lessons and beach relaxation.

 

Week 4-5: Garden Route Adventure

 

Days 10-14: Garden Route Adventures

  • Journey along the Garden Route, visiting Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, and more.

  • Engage in volunteer work in the mornings.

  • Explore the Garden Route's natural beauty, hike in Tsitsikamma National Park, and enjoy local activities.

 

Week 6: Cape Town & Kruger National Park

 

Days 15-17: Cape Town Exploration

  • Wine tasting, Simon's Town

  • Take part in volunteer activities during the mornings.

  • Experience Cape Town's iconic landmarks, such as Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront.

 

Days 18-19: Kruger National Park Safari

  • Kruger National Park for an unforgettable safari adventure.

 

Week 7: Blyde River Canyon & Johannesburg

Days 20-21: Blyde River Canyon Exploration

  • Explore the scenic Blyde River Canyon and its natural wonders.

Days 22-23: Johannesburg and Soweto Tours

  • Arrive in Johannesburg and take a city tour.

  • Visit Soweto to learn about its history and culture.

 

Week 8: Drakensberg Mountains & Wrap-Up

Days 24-25: Drakensberg Mountains Adventure

  • Head to the Drakensberg Mountains for a walking safari and breathtaking landscapes.

Days 26-28: Durban and Closing

  • Return to Durban.

  • Explore the city, go scuba diving, and enjoy beach life.

  • Engage in volunteer activities during the mornings.

  • Conclude the program with a farewell event.
